Nigerian Gospel singer, Theophilus Sunday and his Jamaican fiancee, Ashley White are now legally married.
Kemi Filani reported on Tuesday evening that the gospel singer had announced his engagement to his Jamaican lover, Ashley White. The couple had released their pre-wedding shoot ahead of their wedding.
Kemi Filani has learned that the couple are already legally married. According to Bella Naija, who shared photos from their Civil wedding, the couple had tied the knot legally in January at the Federal Marriage Registry, Abuja, and kept things under wraps.
Recall that media aide to Delta State Governor, Ossai Ovie Success had reacted to his pre-wedding shoot which he heavily criticized. He stated that holding the waist of a woman who is not one’s wife is a taboo traditionally and an immoral act in Christianity.
Noting how the singer is a Minister of God, he stated that Theophilus was passing immorality to the world with the photo. He reemphasized that it was wrong in all ramifications, telling him to look at her waist, see the positioning, and look at what makes him a man and he will understand what he saying.
Also, a fashion police had criticized his fiancee, Ashley White over her outfit for her pre-wedding shoot.
The fashion police deemed her outfit unfit for the wife of a gospel singer and criticized her for it. The Twitter user stated that the dress was not decent for the wife of a man of God.
It seems to be raining wedding bells for gospel singers this year. Last month, social media stood still for Moses Bliss as he tied the knot in a three-part wedding with his wife. The couple first legalized their union with a court wedding in Abuja. This was followed by a traditional marriage in Ghana and then subsequently an elaborate white wedding followed soon after.
In the light of his wedding, controversial former media aide, Reno Omokri shared his opinion on the marriage. He disclosed the specific reason why Moses Bliss had gotten married to a Ghanaian lady instead of a Nigerian lady.
He revealed how most Nigerian women were materialistic and would only be with the man if the man could provide for them financially. He also further stated that a lot of Nigerian men would marry outside Nigeria if they could easily access other women from other countries.
He also further revealed that there would be a pandemic of single unmarried Nigerian women if Nigerian men could easily access other countries.
