Veteran Nigerian journalist and publisher Ayòbámidélé Àbáyòmí Ojútelégàn Momodu better known as Dele Momodu has been conferred with honorary citizenship of Georgia, in the United States of America.
Momodu took to his Instagram page to share a picture of the certificate which described him as an outstanding citizen who is to be afforded every courtesy as a Goodwill Ambassador from Georgia in his travels to other states, to nations beyond the borders of the United States of America, or wherever he may hereafter travel or reside.
In his caption, he appreciated the state for the kind gesture towards him. He wrote,
“Though I couldn’t personally receive this honor in Atlanta, Georgia, most sincerely appreciate the thoughtfulness and kind gestures behind it”.
Honorary citizenship is a status bestowed by a city or other government on a foreign or native individual whom it considers to be especially admirable or otherwise worthy of the distinction.
Congratulatory messages have been pouring in from family, friends, colleagues, and fans on social media.
We at Kemi Filani news say congratulations. More success as you continue to be a good ambassador of our country.
