“A much needed drug” – Kate Henshaw stirs the internet over the old anthem

Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Amaka Henshaw has stirred the internet with her reaction to the government’s order to revert to the old national anthem.

It is no longer news that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had officially signed the old anthem into law, making the new one irrelevant.

The move of the law making house sparked mixed outrage amongst Nigerians who queried the move despite the hardship and current situation in the country.

Reacting to this development, Kate Henshaw slammed the government for thinking about the old anthem at a time of ‘excoriating hardship ‘ and lavl of good governance.

The actress decried the fact that the anthem was made during the colonial reign in the country, saying they are trying to inject patriotism into everyone’s veins.

On the X platform, Kate Henshaw sparked the debate with her X followers.

She tweeted, “In the midst of excoriating hardship & lack of good governance on every level but not to worry going back to a colonial anthem will be a soothing balm and inject patriotism back into our veins, a much needed drug.

The labours of our heroes past o to lo.”

Kemi Filani recalls that Kate Henshaw sought for the prayers of her friend and fans as she announced the death of her dear mother.

On Instagram, Kate Henshaw shared the news with her followers, revealing she lost her mother on the 1st of March.

The vibrant actress called for prayers to help her navigate during her difficult time and also begged that her family be kept in their thoughts.
