“Progress is impossible without change” – Tobi Makinde speaks amidst alleged fallout with Funke Akindele

Nollywood actor and director Tobi Makinde has spoken about growth amidst his alleged fallout with mentor, Funke Akindele.

On Instagram, Tobi Makinde, who is Popularly known as Tinini (Timini) of Jenifa’s Diary shared photos of himself online with a knowledgeable caption.

Quoting George Bernard Shaw, Tobi Makinde wrote, “Progress is impossible without change, and those who cannot change their minds cannot change anything.”

Late 2023, reports made rounds that Funke Akindele and Tobi Makinde are no longer in good terms as the former was trying to allegedly hold down the latter from exploring his talent with other fields.

Mixed reactions trailed the development as many noticed that the duo have not been goofy on each other’s page for a while. But recently, Tobi Makinde showered the box office smasher with accolades.

Makinde debunked the rumors that Funke Akindele doesn’t trat her workers right saying the he wouldn’t have been where he is without the love, training and tutelage of the actress.

Speaking from experience, he stated that the movie star has been so kind to him and her love for him is not something he will forget in a hurry.

It should be noted that Tobi Makinde and Funke Akindele run back as far as the early seasons of Jenifa’s Diary, where the former acted as Funke’s Personal Assistant till the last available episode.

Funke Akindele set a record for the Nigerian film industry as the first ever Nollywood film to enter a billion naira even in a short period.

Presently on the Wikipedia Nollywood grossing table, Funke Akindele’s movies, A Tr!be Called Judah, Battle On Buka Street, and Omo Ghetto The Saga are respectively the highest-grossing Nollywood films of all time.
