EPL: Liverpool’s title race officially over after Man City thrash Fulham

Manchester City‘s 4-0 demolition of Fulham on Saturday, means Liverpool are now mathematically out of the Premier League title race.

The victory sends the defending champions to the top of the table on 85 points.

This means Jurgen Klopp’s final season at Anfield will not end with another league trophy.

Liverpool sit seven points behind with just two games left to play, meaning they can’t catch City even if they win their remaining fixtures against Aston Villa and Wolves.

City’s comprehensive win means the pressure is back on Arsenal to respond on Sunday at Old Trafford.

Victory for the Gunners over Manchester United will take Mikel Arteta’s side back to the summit, one point clear, with just one game left to play for the north London side.

However, the destiny of the title is still in City’s hands, as Guardiola’s men have a game in hand on their title rivals. The match will take place on Tuesday when City head to Arsenal’s neighbours Tottenham for a crunch clash.
