Dbanj says his mother planned his marriage

Nigerian singer and television personality Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, better known by his stage name, Dbanj, has recounted how his mother planned his marriage.

He made this revelation known with TVC ‘Your View’ as he spoke on how he was about to get married without any scandal as an A-List celebrity. Dbanj revealed that during his father’s birthday, his mother told him to bring his girlfriend and introduce her to the family. She had inquired if he wanted to marry, but the singer told her he wasn’t ready since he wanted a high-profile wedding.

To his surprise, his mother had planned a wedding for him on his father’s birthday as she presented him and his wife with a ‘Happy Wedding’ cake at his father’s birthday.

However, the singer is grateful to her for seeing ahead of him, especially with the scandals that rock celebrity marriages today.

“My mother planned everything. She told me don’t worry, this is what we are going to do, so my dad’s birthday is July 2nd, so we were going to celebrate his birthday. She told me to bring the girl I was dating so they could all see her and questioned if I would marry her. I told her I wasn’t ready, that I wanted to do a big thing. She told me I would definitely do a big wedding, but first, I should bring her for Daddy’s birthday.

As we finished Daddy’s birthday, they rolled Daddy’s cake and brought out ‘Happy Wedding’. My brother, D’Prince, was there, and he also was as surprised as I was. And till today, I thank her every day of how so far ahead she saw it and how I see social media stories”.

Reacting to his interview, netizens noted how Do2dtun, his former brother-in-law and Ikechukwu, his former record label mate, didn’t lie when they said his mother controls him.

One Shake Femi wrote, “No wonder Dotun is having issues

One Phiadex wrote, “So Ikechukwu no lie

One The Congressman Official wrote, “Oh Dotun, you said it

One King David Foods wrote, “No wonder eh”.

Refreshing your memory, weeks back, Ikechukwu had opened up on his time in the now defunct MoHits record label, recounting how Dbanj always cheated him by giving him a meagre amount of money after his performances.

He alleged that the singer’s mother ran MoHits record, and the singer would always seek her consent before making any decision. His mother was the one who reviewed and upgraded his earnings per show, as she was in control of the label.

Do2dtun, who was married to Dbanj’s sister, claimed that the singer’s mother made life a living hell for him. He noted how they have been treating him unfairly following the divorce, especially with his children’s custody battle.
