Nollywood actor and filmmaker Femi Adebayo is quite elated as his 2023 movie, Jagun Jagun bags 7 nominations at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

Taking to his Instagram page to share the good news, Femi revealed that his movie bagged nominations for Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Achievement in Costume Design, achievement in Make-up, achievement in Production Design, Ousmane Sembene Award for Best Film in African Language, achievement in Visual Effect and National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) award for best Nigerian film.

Femi expressed how honored he is for the nominations as he expressed how excited he is for all the contributors in the nominated categories for his movie. He also gave a shout-out to the organizers of the award for the recognition and to his team, for making his movie a masterpiece.

Femi Adebayo Jagun Jagun bags 7 AMAA nominations

Since releasing his first movie on streaming platform, Netflix, Femi Adebayo has made a mark in the world of Filmmaking. The movie shattered records on Netflix, as it went global on the streaming app with 2.1 million views. It was also ranked 5th in Non-English Charts, and was listed among the Top 10 trending movies on Netflix in 17 countries.

In August of 2023, Femi Adebayo had expressed excitement after receiving his first award for Jagun Jagun.

The movie star recounted how he got a call from Woli Arole, informing him about a dinner in honour of his movie, which he contemplated declining. Unaware of what they had planned for him, Femi was blown away by the award presentation and the emotional speech from Faithia Williams and Bimbo Ademoye.

In May this year, Femi Adebayo bagged an award at the 10th edition of Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards AMVCA for Best Indigenous Language for Jagun Jagun.

He dedicated his award to his Creator, production crew team, family, and fans, expressed how proud he was to have won the award, and promised to keep delivering bigger and better movies.

Opening up on the movie in an interview with the press, the box office King revealed that he sold his properties to fund the movie, which is a multi-billion project, because he didn’t want to seek help from financial institutions and individuals. Elsewhere in the interview, he revealed his worst nightmare and its inspiration.
