“Why having kids in your 20s is the best option” – Nina Ivy reveals as she reacts to criticisms over her thoughts on early childbirth

Nina Ivy says she wanted to be a young mum

Big Brother Naija reality star Nina Ivy has spoken out on why she prefers having kids in her 20s as she advocates for early childbirth.

A day back, the reality star admitted that she always wanted to be a young mum, especially in her 20s, and didn’t even mind getting a sperm donor if that would have been an option for her. Nina expressed how glad she was that she didn’t allow fame to get in her way, as she enjoys being a mum and still wants to have a daughter before she turns 30. Admonishing her fans, she stated that as long as they have the resources to care for a child, they can have a baby.

Her statement didn’t sit well with many, and reacting to it in a series of posts on her Instagram story, she stated that she understood their concern and didn’t mean to be insensitive. However, her comment was meant to reflect that diversity of experiences and she recognizes that everyone’s journey is different.

“I understand your concern and didn’t mean to sound insensitive. However, you’re right that many women don’t have control over when they can have children, but it’s also true and doesn’t change the fact that some do have that choice. My comment was meant to reflect that diversity of experiences. I recognize that everyone’s journey is different, and I appreciate the chance to clarify my perspective, which I also did on my Snapchat the day I made that post, blogs always choose what they want to post anyway.

“Losses can happen whether you choose to have kids in your 20s or 50s but I believe it’s important to focus on the beautiful and positive aspects of life rather than dwelling on the negatives. Just as some may face challenges with early parenthood, others may encounter them even if they have children later. Let’s try to see the bright side and appreciate the good things we have. Everyone’s experience is different and that’s okay”.

In another post, she re-emphasized that having kids in her 20s can be the best option because it often allows one to have more energy and time to raise them, while also giving them more years in life to pursue other goals once they are grown. She added that she believes it can be beneficial for building a strong, long-lasting relationship with one’s children as they grow together.

“I believe that having kids in your 20s can be the best option because it often allows you to have more energy and time to raise your children, while also giving you more years later in life to pursue other goals once they are grown. I also think it can be beneficial for building a strong, long-lasting relationship with your children as you grow together. Example “Omoni Oboli”.

This is my perspective based on my own experiences and observations. I understand that everyone’s situation is different, and it’s completely okay if you don’t agree with me.

You can’t shove your opinion on my throat the same way I’m not shoving mine on yours. PS: You don’t have to agree with me either and that’s okay”.

Nina Ivy reveals why having kids in 20s is best

Kemi Filani reported in 2020 that Nina Ivy welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Denzel, with her ex-lover, Anthony.

The reality star married in October 2022 to an African-Amërican, Chris Miller. The couple reportedly met sometime in 2021 and dated for seven months before finally tying the knot privately in court in the USA.

According to different sources, the duo had their court marriage in April 2022, and Nina Ivy has since changed her name on all her social media platforms to her husband’s name, Nina Ivy Miller.

In 2023, the reality star welcomed her second child, whose name and identity she has kept under wraps. In a social media post in April, Nina Ivy revealed that she was a mother of two and her second child was 16 months old. Speaking on why she hasn’t posted her second son, Nina said she would post the child when she was ready.
