“I love marriage and being married” – Toke Makinwa addresses wrong narrative about her over men

Toke Makinwa speaks on wrong narrative about her

Media personality and entrepreneur Toke Makinwa has addressed a wrong narrative about her regarding men and marriage.

Taking to her Instagram story, the divorcee noted how people think she hates men or is a man basher, which is wrong, as she loves marriage and being married. Toke stated that she greatly advocates marriage because 2 is better than 1.

However, the way this generation is set up, we use people and value things, when it should be the other way round. She noted how this generation is moving like everyone is replaceable and we stop investing in people because we all think we can find better.

She further noted how everyone is moving like our material things and what society has made us think is real success is what we invest in. She noted how back then, it took a community to raise kids, not anymore, as our walls are so high.

Toke added that people now care about what they put out as everyone is all about themselves and the few who aren’t getting involved with those who are and it ends up one-sided. She stated that people picking their peace of mind over a collective peace for all, wouldn’t work.

“Funny how the narrative out there is that I hate men or I’m a man basher, etc. I’m a huge advocate for marriage cos 2 is better than 1. The way this generation is set up though…

We use people and value things. It should be the other way around. We used to value people, and things were to be used. Our generation is moving like everyone is replaceable, we stopped investing in people cos we all think we can find better.

Everyone moves like our material things and what society has made us think is real success is what we need to invest in. Way back, it took a community to raise kids, not anymore, our walls are so high.

We care more about what we put out; everyone is all about “I” and the few who are not getting involved with those who are and it ends up being one-sided. People picking their peace of mind over a collective Peace for all can’t work.

Until we begin to fix sadly, a lot of people will settle for life alone with peace over trying to exist in periodic happiness and disposable interaction. Thank you all for coming to my Tedtalk. It’s been a while. Ok bye”.

Toke Makinwa speaks on wrong narrative about her

weeks back, Toke gave a shout-out to some unnamed married women who used to judge her, noting how life has visited them. Toke stated that this is one of the reasons she doesn’t judge anyone, as she noted how some of these women claim to be married yet are available for men.

In June, Toke had replied to a troll who mocked her for being unmarried. The troll identified had stated that the media personality had passed the single era and was now in her unmarried era. Toke reacted, declaring that God would do hers for her and that her troll would be alive to congratulate her.

She had also replied to an X user who upgraded her age. The X user had praised her for looking hot in her 40s, and Toke had replied by questioning who was in her 40s as she told him she hadn’t clocked 40. She, however, assured the tweep that when she turns 40, she will be hotter.

Recall that, Toke Makinwa was once married to fitness expert, Maje Ayinde but the marriage crashed in 2016, after two years on the grounds of adultery.

Opening up on her failed marriage, she noted how she was blamed for her marriage failure even though her ex-husband fathered a child with another woman. She said people had different versions of what they thought her marriage was, which left her traumatized as she was the victim.
