“It wasn’t easy” – Ubi Franklin shares his bitter-sweet experience as he bags a law degree (Hons); pens note to Davido, Chioma, others

Nigerian talent manager and bestfriend of award-winning music star Davido, Ubi Franklin, has bagged a Bachelor of Laws – LLB (Hons) from University of Essex.

The talent manager shared the good news via his Instagram page as he recounted his bitter-sweet experience. He revealed that in March 2020, he got the information that Nigeria would be going on lockdown due to a pandemic and being a restless person with a desire always to achieve new goals, he was of the opinion that his various university degrees weren’t enough and he needed something more.

He revealed that he was on a phone call with Pastor Tobi when he told him he wanted to give Law another shot, but this time in the UK, he encouraged him. Ubi stated that after several postponements, he woke up one morning determined to find a school, and he searched the internet desperately till he found the University he enrolled in.

He stated that he started with Legal skills and context, Public Law, Criminal Law, Business Environment, and Business and Management Skills. From there, the journey moved to the Law of Tort, Land Law, Operations Management, Wills and Administration of Estates.

The talent manager penned a heartfelt note to Pastor Tobi for always remembering he was in school and encouraging him. He also appreciated Davido and his wife, Chioma, for their unwavering support and encouragement.

Ubi Franklin will add to the list of celebrities bagging a degree this year.

Last month, Nollywood actor Akeem Adeyemi earned a Master’s Degree in International Business in the United Kingdom. Akeem shared the delightful news on his Instagram page with cheering words to mark the new milestone in his career.

In May, gospel singer Lanre Teriba bagged his first degree from Boston University, Massachusetts, USA. Though he didn’t disclose his course of study, he expressed gratitude to his creator as he said he finally made it.

In April, Big Brother Naija season 3 winner Miracle Ikechukwu graduated with distinction from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida, USA. He shared the good news on his Instagram story, with a clip of him receiving his certificate.

Actress Wumi Toriola, last year, announced the completion of her Master’s Degree at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology with a grateful message to her new friends. In April of this year, she penned a heartfelt appreciation as she shared photos from her Convocation.
