New minimum wage: Tinubu reportedly reviews N105,000 template as strike is suspended

Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Wale Edun, has met the 48-hour deadline given to him to present a new minimum wage template to President Bola Tinubu.

Edun submitted to President Tinubu the cost implications of the new minimum wage at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

According to Western Post, the new proposal suggests a minimum wage of N105,000.

Tinubu is currently reviewing the document and an official announcement is expected soon.

This development follows a nationwide strike by Organized Labour which began on Monday.

The strike led to the shutdown of international airports, schools, courts, banks, and hospitals.

Members of the organised labour on Tuesday, suspended their strike for five days, after meeting with the Tripartite Committee on Minimum Wage.
